If they don't pass an infrastructure plan when both Trump and Clinton's voters wanted one, they're gonna be drained from the swamp.

The Muslim ban vanishing from his website and his comments on Hillary and Obama since he was elected are starting to make me hopeful for my theory that a lot of the shit he said was to take advantage of the stupid in America to get elected.

But even if he was serious about wanting to help the middle class it's not going to happen because he's going to be surrounded by career politicians that only care about big business and helping their lobby buddies out. That quote from McConnell says it all.

The term limits on Congress was the one thing I agreed with him on! But there's no way they let that happen.

Plus they could give a shit about infrastructure. They want to kick out the Mexicans, repeal Obamacare and replace it with something that only lines the riches pockets and make sure that the tax code is only reformed to support the rich.

The guy is in the WWE Hall of Fame and was a realty TV show host for Christ's sake. I definitely didn't want to see him as president but felt that some of his more extreme measures were simply bluster to draw followers to his campaign.

t’s been less than two days since it became apparent that Donald J. Trump will become our nation’s next president ― and the country is still processing the unexpected results.

Today, President-elect Trump met with President Barack Obama in the first steps to begin the transition of power to the Republican Party.

On Wednesday, however, the White House staff, along with the rest of America, listened as Obama discussed the election results in a televised address.

And their faces said it all.

He's gonna be the GOAT lame duck President... because there's one thing people are forgetting.

Republicans won't get anything done because they short-sightedly turned the Senate's silent filibuster into the default tool of the minority. They don't have a 60-40 supermajority, so the Dems can literally block every single bill. Toss in the fact there's so many that will not want to work with him because just like Trump doesn't forget... they also won't forget the things he always said for two decades before Obama came around on how he couldn't fundamentally agree with either side when they would veer too far to the left or right.

It'll become clear when they really start to complain about the second person he wants to put on the Supreme Court.

I think Trump will have trouble passing legislation through a Republican controlled government. The term limits and infrastructure clash with them.

The best thing to come out this will be his enemies list he'll keep. Everyone was on Nixon's.

I just still can't wrap my head around how politicians can pass policies that absolutely hurt and screw over the average American but do it with a straight face and say it's what's best for America.

I almost feel like Trump is about to live a very bad episode of Mr. Sterling.

I also wonder if he will actually pick centrist judges.

Walker isn't in the Senate.

Those people who expect to be there for life won't get rid of it. Senators are their own political entity and don't have to do a lot of the grandstanding that Congressmen and Governors do. They are interested in maintaining a life appointment. There are also Senators who want to run for President in the future and they know that rubber stamping Donald Trump's agenda in that way will turn out very badly if things go to shit.

Trump has leverage: Lot's of R senators are up for reelection in 2018. And Trump isn't beholden to the Republican party. If they don't go along with it, it'll be trouble.

McConnell already said that's not happening. The Senate isn't just gonna bend over for him. People don't understand that the Senate is the reason Obama couldn't get much to pass even though he had control over it. There are 100 politically different entities pulling everything in different directions. Many of those believe their state deserves more than others.

Senate already shitting on Trump's Empty the Swamp Plan:

On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell mostly made nice with Trump but also shot down or expressed little enthusiasm in some of his plans. On Trump's proposal to impose term limits on Congress, McConnell said, "It will not be on the agenda in the Senate." McConnell has been a long-standing opponent of term limits, as NPR's Susan Davis reports. "I would say we have term limits now — they're called elections."

McConnell also threw some cold water on Trump's infrastructure plans, calling it not a top priority.

McConnell did say repealing Obamacare is a "pretty high item on our agenda" along with comprehensive tax reform and achieving border security "in whatever way is the most effective." But he also declined to discuss the Senate's immigration agenda further.

So you know damn well the rich are getting the business cut... what are the odds the middle class cut gets lost in the shuffle, and what are the odds the ass clowns in the board rooms will use the funds for jobs and not plumping the bottom line for wall street?

Great, so Trumps good ideas will be blocked by the republicans and his bad ideas will be pushed forward.

You're just plain wrong on this. They already have a plan in place to gut Obamacare via reconciliation (simple majority needed). And the filibuster is simply a Senate rule that can be discarded.

Has anyone checked out Shaun King's facebook and twitter with minorities talking about being verbally and physically abused the day after Trump was elected? I wonder how many were true and how many were exaggerated.

I'll never in my life understand why health care is a business. Shouldn't this be a right? If you get cancer shouldn't you get treatment? Why are you forced to financially ruin your life?

They're not gonna ditch the filibuster. 52-48 with some Republican Senators like Jeff Flake, Lindsey Graham, Ben Sasse, and John McCain in severe opposition to him. It's not gonna happen. There will also be some GOP members who have the foresight to know they can launch their career off the filibuster as people like Ted Cruz did.

Because poor people don't matter. They're lucky they're not counted as 3/5 of a person during census.

Insane reading @ShaunKing's twitter as he's posting TONS of hate that's occurred on Day 1 of Trump as Pres. Retweeted an anti-gay marriage one to Trump's official Twitter.

This sounds like the post-Brexit stuff x50. The story about the girl who was assaulted and then defended herself and was arrested because the only witnesses were the assaulter's friends, man.

I keep hearing that Trump "tapped into the white working class vote" but then I saw a stat that said with white people overall, he was down 1 point from Romney 58-59. Then I read that it was white women who flocked to Trump.

Then I read the real issue was lower than expected turnout in Obama stronghold areas from 08/12, which is why all the polling was so off, because they were basing it on Hillary getting the same or similar turnout as Obama in those areas.

I am sure they are still dissecting exactly how it all broke down.

Also, I do wonder if Trump will have more ability as a "Republican" to try and strong-arm the house & senate into agreeing to things they never would with a (D) president. That is of course, if Trump is actually serious about infrastructure spending. Despite Trump's win, the (R) is still fractured and probably worried about the new breed that Trump's win may spawn. They may decide to play nice with him at least until the mid-terms, to avoid risking further fracturing of the party.

Al Franken is on CNN right now talking about healthcare. Really think he's gonna be the nominee in 2020 if he has any interest whatsoever.

Steve Bannon is apparently in the lead for Chief of Staff. So again, if you think the Republicans are gonna get rid of the filibuster with a guy like that, I dunno. The Trump presidency is gonna try to shovel shit in the GOP's face.

Shaun King needs to be consistent. All forms of violence and hatred are WRONG. Not just against people of color.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand I hate everything his product puts out. On the other hand he does fit the outsider narrative.

I admittedly can't view the link but I can't recall King being a defender of crimes against whites.
