As mentioned in the Pearl Jam thread, I got some tickets to see them on the 20th of April. Lower levels to the side and a little behind the stage. Should still be a good show.

Got some tickets for Springsteen on the 10th of April and his prices for this tour are outrageous. Paid 125 for some decent uppers. The general admission tickets are 50 dollars more than they were three years ago. I figure this is because Ticketmaster and a lot of arenas feel that this may be the E Street Band's last tour so they are gouging the hell out of customers.

Bob Pollard is back under the GBV banner with a bunch of no-names; although I'd prefer the Tobin Sprout lineup, I'll take it. Hopefully they start touring again.

I just got an e-mail that Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin are touring together with Alter Bridge opening. Boy, 16 year old me would have been all over that shit!

Also, Black fucking Sabbath this Thursday. Can't fucking wait!

St Asonia (Three Days Grace's old frontman's new band) also joined the tour. I wouldnt mind seeing Breaking Benjamin again, and while David Draiman's voice is hit or miss live, I'd like to see Disturbed. Myles Kennedy can't sing for shit live, but the music aspect of Alter Bridge is quite good.

Also, my friend bought me and a bunch of friends tickets to Weird Al in September. Oh boy!

This was pretty damn fun. Way more interesting than I was expecting. I got a kick of them playing every single clip that had a passing mention of Al in between songs so he can do costume changes. I'm sure people were upset that we only got one verse of "Eat It" and it was acoustic at that!

Metallica in '04, Slayer in '06, Anthrax in '12, and now, this Thursday, I will complete my Big 4 live experience by seeing Megadeth!

One of draws for the show for me was that Suicidal Tendencies is opening. I'm more curious what a 2016 ST act sounds like. Plus, Dave Lombardo is playing drums for them on this tour so you can't go wrong there.

How bad was that Megadeth concert, Reine?

Thought of it when I saw some of my Facebook friends were going to see that Megadeth/Suicidal Tendencies tour stop in Bangor tonight.

It was actually pretty good, had a fun time. My only gripe is they cut "Peace Sells" short. The end is the best part of the song!

Friend offered me a free ticket to Rob Zombie this summer. I guess the only question I have is how much (if any) White Zombie does he still perform live? I'm hoping for at least Thunderkiss...

A quick trip to setlist.fm says Thunderkiss 65 is his 3rd most played song, right behind Living Dead Girl and Dragula. Odds are, you'll probably hear it.

Going to see Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem singer) in June. Looks like his shows are a mix of his solo album and his stuff with The Horrible Crowes. Can't wait.

KISS is coming to Portland for first time in a decade and a half.

I don't care if they're old and I think I might have said after last time I saw them that that was last time I'd see KISS, I'm not not seeing my favorite band when they're playing a 10 minute drive from my house. Might even paint my face and everything.

Can't wait to hear Paul Stanley scream "PORTLAND, MAINE!" :D :D 8)

So, Springsteen cancelled his show in Greensboro this Sunday over NC's discriminatory HB2:

http://brucespringsteen.net/#post-10243

While disappointed that he cancelled the show, I still applaud he and the band for taking a stand. This is much more effective than simply taking the stand and preaching to those already worshiping at the Springsteen pulpit. Feel sorry for those who have pre-paid for air travel and hotels but fuck it, taking a stand against these backwards thinking morons in office here is the right move.

Just don't cancel the PJ show on the 20th ;D

Funny. I've seen them 3 times and when I saw them about 18 months ago I said it was the last time I'd see them. Paul Stanley should not be allowed to speak!!!

Yeah, it's a tour of B & C cities.

The Dead Daisies are opening up. They're one of those supergroups that's only a supergroup to Eddie Trunk and MAYBE TSM's BUTT (and it's a pretty weak maybe). I don't think John Corabi plus a bunch of later members of Whitesnake constitutes a supergroup but whatever. Hope they play some songs from Motley Crue ("Hooligan's Holiday" FTW)

This'll be my third time seeing KISS. Honestly, had more fun seeing Ace Frehley solo shows. Ace seems to be aging more gracefully than the other guys.

I know it's just me but I wish KISS would just drop the makeup and costumes at this point.

Never going to happen. KISS is a brand and has been for decades now and Gene wants to ensure that the legacy (and money) will keep going on strong long after he's dead and the make-up helps drive home the fact that it doesn't matter who's playing.

I was more shocked when Twisted Sister announced that they're dropping the make-up and costumes. I guess 60-year-old Dee Snyder is drag was even too much for him.

Good for them! Honestly, as it's been said before - you can still play and donate the money, but the officials in charge aren't really punished that way. Boycotting is the most powerful thing they can do. Once NC starts realizing how much money they're losing it'll have no choice but to reverse this idiotic law.

Also, I love Eddie changing the lyric in I am a Patriot to, "I was walking with my boyfriend." 8)

Summerland 2016 has been announced. Everclear, Sugar Ray, Lit, and Sponge.

Pretty disappointed that this year is just a mash-up of the first two line-ups. I wanted Spin Doctors and Fastball to get some work!

Speaking of '90s nostalgia tours, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, and G. Love & Special Sauce are doing a triple bill at the Maine State Pier in August. Hell yes. 8 year old, VH1 loving King Kamala would be psyched for this show.

I actually saw Blues Traveler on the Maine State Pier ten years ago. This was well past their prime but pre '90s nostalgia being a big thing. Me and my brother got free tickets from winning trivia. IIRC, it wasn't very well attended. Weird bill. Opening acts were The Saw Doctors and a gospel choir directed by Robert Johnson's grandson. John Popper was drunk off his ass. Hope this show with Wallflowers is as good as that.

I saw G. Love & Special Sauce about ten years ago at the Orpheum in Boston with Blackalicious opening with my dad. Another weird bill! You'd think Pops Kamala was chaperoning me but he was a bigger G. Love fan than I was. 2nd most prominent G. Love memory is a recent Rolling Stone cover story where Dan Auerbach from Black Keys was being super defensive over being wrongly accused of being a G. Love & Special Sauce fan. Hard to imagine anybody getting that wound up over G. Love & Special Sauce. Other than maybe my dad.

Haven't seen the Wallflowers. YET!
