Saw the Wallflowers last night (second time seeing them, first time was opening for Counting Crows in 2013). Jakob got on the mic a few songs in and admitted that he was not used to playing in front of this type of crowd (rich, old people who mostly sat down). Eventually some drunk white girls got up to dance and security were telling them to quit it until Jakob got back on the mic to say that everyone is welcome to run down to the barricade and groove. Their set was fun. They did two Tom Petty covers (American Girl and the Waiting).

Do you think the average TSMer would rather go see this tour or a GCW show?

They're headlining ahead of Megadeth but I'm gonna leave before they play so I don't know how to answer that. And I would go to a GCW show too? Clearly I have a problem

Here are some Metallica pictures from PNC. I was on the field in front of the soundboard, probably about 50 feet from the front of the stage that jutted out. One pic shows a guy in a wheelchair who was having the time of his life after being hoisted up by the crowd during Enter Sandman. The stage setup was awesome and while there wasn't a ton of pyro the stuff they did use was great. (Fire during Moth in Flame, and the fireworks at the end)

Pics in spoilers again cause not sure how big they will show up.

Jinjer is coming back to Pittsburgh in November. They were here last November with Suicide Silence and they were great. Not everyone's cup of tea but they are amazing musicians and Tatiana is a tour de force on vocals.

Got GA tickets and VIP Meet and Greet passes. Pretty pumped.

Southtown along with Rock the Party were their best singles. It was all downhill from there.

I was supposed to see Pet Shop Boys/New Order last year at MSG. Obviously the show was postponed to this September. They're still unable to travel here, so it was postponed again until next September. I could have gotten a refund, but I'll be damned if I can't get to PSB and New Order. I've seen PSB 3 times previously, but never New Order. This is a bucketlist concert for me, especially at MSG.

Late last year they rescheduled this for this September 28th. I took PTO time for the whole week since it's a mid-week show, and the last time I went to a mid-week show was Lady Gaga at MSG and I was dead tired at work the next day. To say I'm beyond excited for this show to finally happen is an understatement. It's also the week after AEW Grand Slam, which I'll also be going to but that's only about 15 minutes from where I live, and I work from home.

I like that Scorpions appear to be headlining Night One.

You can't deny the appeal of Klaus Meine! Headlining over Whitesnake's farewell tour and Pantera's comeback!

Yeah I’m gonna go to this for AiC. Cause if I don’t do shit when I can I might not get another chance and unfortunately large parts of the last three years showed me that.
You guys absolutely have to see them if you dig them at all. There’s a lot of parts where it feels like Layne is up there even though your eyes tell you differently. So I would say that this dude is a great fucking replacement.

Bush was good too lol

I'm a bad person too cause it was like...Woodstock level heat outside and this guy's beer to water ratio was something like a lot to none and this fuckin guy made me laugh by falling down the stairs during Down In a Hole. A few songs before that this guy stumbled up the stairs and already looked fucked. Talk about a song to fall down the stairs to. At first tbh after I laughed I thought he was dead but they dragged him outta there.

Mercyful Fate are going on their first headlining tour in over two decades, with Kreator and Midnight opening. I'm considering going to the Cincinatti show.

So this is the third time I've seen them but the first two times they played sets very much unlike their regular set. Maybe because this is a special charity show it'll be a third time they play a non-regular set?

Just got back from seeing The Gaslight Anthem on their reunion tour. Wasn’t entirely in love with the setlist; played a lot of their moodier stuff, but the back half picked things up a bit, and they sounded great.

I'm genuinely surprised that Dead & Co is having their farewell tour since it seemed like entire concept of the band was to ensure the Grateful Dead's music would last long after all of the original members died.

Depeche Mode announced a new album and world tour. Tickets went on sale late last week, and I went to check on tickets for their MSG show. The cheapest I found was $268, and that was in the upper seats. To compare, I just saw Pet Shop Boys/New Order at MSG and had floor seats that I bought for under $200 the day they went on sale. Those tickets were bought over 2 years ago, but even day of re-sellers had seats on the floor for under $200, and for the same fanbase that will see Depeche Mode, New Order and Pet Shop Boys doing a show together for the first time might be a bigger deal.

I'm guessing it's because of the health of the two drummers, Hart and Kruetzmann. They might want to end the era of 2-set, stadium shows without the "rhythm devils" to center everything. I assume Bobby Weir will continue to tour with his solo band(s).

I hope I can get to one of these shows next year.

And considering the number of Dead tribute bands (and Dead offshoot tribute bands!) that are around 25+ years after Jerry died, they probably don’t have to worry about their musical footprint being forgotten.

Yeah, Dark Star Orchestra remains a touring institution and Joe Russo's Almost Dead could probably move up to arenas in some markets already.
