Booker T having good takes doesn't add to my disoriented confused feeling mentioned in the dream thread.

I will agree with Dax Harwood in this mildly controversial stance...Bret Hart wasn't necessarily checked out in WCW but WCW definitely checked out on him. Until Russo showed up, it's obvious from Day 1 that WCW really only got Bret Hart for the sake of having him on the roster and had no real plans or ideas on how to use him. You can argue stuff like his '98 whiny midcard heel stuff wasn't good but you can't say he wasn't trying.

Man had a groin pull the likes of which we've never seen.

Considering Tugboat was getting tryouts in late 89 and they didn't bother to find a spot for him at the 90 Rumble or WM 6 and then decided he had ego issues over the summer of 90 BEFORE Sarge became a turncoat, I'd say there is a zero percent chance that Fred Ottman was ever in the running to become the top heel in the WWF. I'd ask him but Toot toot already suitably chastened me for my dirt sheet yellow journalism.

Lots of good, young talent at the end of WCW to go along with the huge contracts and bad booking of the upper card to main event. Skipper was definitely a highlight.

I really think if Bischoff had gotten the FX deal and WCW had survived, his stripped down WCW 2.0 (live from the Hard Rock Cafe parking garage in Las Vegas!) had a chance of working tbh cause of the amount of young talent. Just seemed like a combination of the right roster in right setting on right network. Oh well. I guess we would have missed out on Eric Bischoff screaming about hot lesbian action.

A cruiser division with Skipper, Rey, Kidman, Jett, Kash, Kwee Wee, and Romeo would have been almost back to the glory days. If Bischoff wanted the Hogans and Goldbergs of the world on top then it would've been a totally okay throwback to 1998. Fuck reality for not letting the stillborn rebirth of WCW happen.

I was going to ask in my 2001 thread but has there been anything said about the payoff to the Magnificent Seven? Mystery cameraman, Buff getting taken out backstage, Totally Buff getting destroyed like they did. I know nothing could live up to any of my expectations because it's still WCW booking but something was going to happen eventually.

Love how the late era WCW C/D show announcers dgaf and would just reference long dead storylines.

I feel like they kind of set the template for Matt Strikers and Corey Graves the world though unfortunately.
