I don't know what Crackle is all about or why all this content is free, but I'll take it. BATTLE DOME!

Holy crap. Thanks for pointing that out. I still don't have a router so my Xbox isn't usually hooked up so I wouldn't have noticed this otherwise.

Do I have to pay to watch Crackle?
Nope. Everything on Crackle is free to watch.
so nothing about it being a limited time thing so far. An actual reason to keep Xbox Gold when my freebies expire?

HBO GO is reportedly finally launching on 360 on April 1st to coincide with season 2 of Game of Thrones.

Although that could obviously be a prank.

They have nearly 60 anime shows up. That's nearly half of all the tv shows they have. I haven't used other streaming services so I can't compare their navigation to others but I don't find it to be that big of a hassle at all.

One thing I noticed is a fanservice anime I won't mention by name is shown in 4:3 on Crackle but 16:9 on Netflix.

If you want a terrible fanservice anime that you will go to hell for, go find high school dxd. Funimation has it streaming on their website. While watching, remember two things:

1. They're all totally under 18.

2. Another human being animated the pole dancing sequence in the end credits.

I wouldn't mind that, actually. I'm not overly crazy about digital distribution being the sole means of getting games, but games could still be distributed physically via flash memory cards or something like that and it would've a huge improvement with loading times, etc.. I'm kind of getting sick of the limitations that optical disc formats present.

If I'm paying $60 for a game I'd like to physically own it and be able to resell it if need be.

They updated the YouTube app. Seems to run a LOT smoother and they put the option to see your subscriptions right in the front panel. Now if I can view more than 50 video results when I do a search.

The videos look a lot sharper as well.

Digital distrubution will NEVER take on unless they significantly reduce the prices.

Fifa 12 on PSN costs 49.99 for crying out loud.
You'd think, but there is already a successful market model for digital sales (Steam) at current prices (for new games). Not only that, but apparently the digital version of Mass Effect 3 on PSN accounts for about 20% of ME3s total sales, and that was also $59.99.

I'm sure reductions would happen eventually but they're not going to do it until sales drop off - a ot.

This is a culture of people who buy things at a snap judgment. I would buy games I wasn't as interested in if all I had to do was hit a button. This is iTunes generation and in the grand scheme of how you use everything else...it's probably overdue.

I would buy games I am not THAT interested in at the click of a button.. and I do.. but those games are usually less than $10. I don't think that kind of purchase behaviour is as prevalent with games that are $60.

But it is overdue, I agree. As much as I prefer physical medium and OWNING a copy of something, there'll always be the push to move more toward digital distribution or even digital connections. With the PC version of Skyrim.. the disc you physically buy.. you still have to go online and install Steam before you can install Skyrim. At least after that you can be offline and still launch the game through Steam, but to HAVE to have a net connection to simply install a game you bought physically is so lame. =\

If anyone still plays You Don't Know Jack, all four DLC packs are on sale for 200 points each. Too bad nobody seems to play this online anymore.

I never played it online and I never will, because to do is pointless. Every episode has the exact same questions in the exact same order, so online play would be a matter of memorization.

So is Mlb.tv. Which I signed up for and am already hopelessly addicted to. I'm watching last years Ray/Yanks season finale. When the season starts I'm going to be watching a fucking lot of baseball.

I guess my Live account was hacked since someone bought a bunch of GOW3 add-on with all my points?

Anything I can do other than change my password/have it lock other consoles out? I'm pretty sure my points are gone.

Contact support ASAP and they will lock the account and do a 6month investigation.

My account was compromised back in August 2011, with £80 worth of points added to the account. My account got locked and in October i got all the money back and a free months worth of live.

Shitty service is shitty service, but at least i got the money back.

Do they have games on demand? I work 4-12 5 days a week which is not ideal for watching live games, but that seems to be the main selling point they're ptching on the website. LIVE GAMES! It's barely cheaper than just paying my cable company for the sports package and DVRing the game.

They have every game, from both teams broadcasts (unless its an ESPN game where there was just the one) for the whole season up after it airs. If it's a blackout game for you I think it's up an hour and a half after the game ends. They have literally every game from the 2011 season sitting there to watch in HD from either perspective whenever you want. And all this season's games go up that day.
