Wonderful. Navi hasn't bothered me as much as I've always heard she would. I just widely ignore her.

I wonder what the capacity for Wii U discs are going to be. If you're going to have HD games, you need discs with a lot of GB's.

I hope so.

Half the reason I want one of these things is because Wii games look shitty on my TV through component cables.

No, nor the official specs. I feel like Nintendo entered E3 begrudgingly. They probably would rather have done this in September or so, when they actually have locked down everything.
Also I hope they are planning to bundle Nintendo Land with it. The games are all fun, but (even with 12 total, which they promote) I don't know if it will be a top seller stand alone. Either that or they'll just package it with the mini games they were showing at last years E3.

Sucks about it not upscaling, but the games should at least look clearer through HDMI.

If the games aren't upscaled it will make no difference if you use component cables or HDMI, you are gonna get the same picture. Now if the WiiU outputs at 1080p for it's actual games and you have a 1080p tv then going HDMI would be beneficial since component is going to only output at 1080i max, and it cuts down on cable clutter.

Not even the games, just the Wii itself looks blurry through my component cables. It looked fine on my older CRT HDTV, but it looks terrible on the LCD I bought a few years ago.

Even if its just to overall "cloudiness" that's gone with the Wii U, I'll be happy.

Finally got around to watching the ZombiU trailer. I'm a little curious as to how the "scanning" functionality is going to work exactly. Does it actually "scan" or even look for what is on screen? Do certain events of button presses bring up these features? How is this going to work with different and upcoming screen types? How about projectors? Old CRT TVs? Unless they have a trick up their sleeves, I can see some people complaining at launch that their TV isn't compatible.

If it still has the little IR bar around your TV and the console knows where that is and knows where the Gamepad is in relation to it then it should be able to line that stuff up no matter what kind of screen you are using.

Yeah, I thought about it after I posted it. Since it uses the Wii controllers, it's going to need the IR bar.

Picked up a 3DS this afternoon. Which game should be my first order of business? I'm currently leaning towards Resident Evil Revelations.

That's a good first choice. The 3DS has a much more robust library than when it launched, so this isn't a simple question to answer.

Almost any first party Nintendo game is great. Maybe not Pilotwings (Way too short), Steel Diver (Way too not sure what it is), Spirit Camera (Must be played in perfect direct sunlight), or Mario Tennis (I actually love this game, but people seem to be evenly split, and I don't know what side you'd be on), but anything else is great.

Third party wise, Street Fighter is still good, RE Revelations, some of the RPG's out there are good, and then the downloadable titles are worth a look.

Also, regarding Revelations, you can download the demo right now to get a feel for it.

I got the demo last night, and I like what I've played. Payday is this week, so I think I've found what I'm getting.

Super Mario 3D Land is an amazingly great Mario game, I'd recommend that next.

Anyone else collect all the stupid hats and all the stupid puzzle pieces in street pass? I had all the original ones but when they added Find Mii 2 and the new puzzles it set me way back. I finally got all the new stupid hats a month or two ago, and I'm just now finally nearing the end of collecting the puzzle pieces. I think only 6 left, and some people at the grocery store I shop at have most if not all of them, so I'm looking forward to finally getting finished with that shit. Until Nintendo adds more again and I start this stupid cycle all over again.

I've been playing Ocarina of Time 3D. I had been playing it on N64, but I was just at Jabu Jabu's Belly, so I decided I would just catch up to where I was here, and play on until the end. I'm sure I'm repeating earlier comments, but HOLY FUCK THEY MADE NAVI MORE ANNOYING THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED! Every single time you target an enemy, HEY! Also, play for longer than an hour, but she even tells you that you should take a break.

The 3DS XL. Will be out in the US on August 19 for $199. The thing has been out a little more than a year and they already think it's time for a revision?

Odd. I found Navi a lot less annoying in the 3DS version than in the N64 version.

Thats for next years revision.

Nintendo seem to want to do the same marketing as Apple, release the same product every year with a new feature.

Goddamn, I had like half of these shits. Surprised I didn't have more from the DS line, but I guess I was much busier at that point. I also had a PSP as well, to add to my collection of handhelds.
