2,203 games, including all the games Steam pulled from sale. Best part? On steam for less than one hour in the entirety of the sale.

Reading this boy's profile has enraged me.

I dunno, he seems to have a pretty good career ahead of him as a game reviewer.

Re: The Steam Thread: No big sales going on right now, but still awesome

So, rumor is that the Summer sale is going to FINALLY start tomorrow. Let's see if this holds true, and if there's any extra gimmicks associated with it.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

And after all this time getting hyped for the sale to start...there's nothing I'm going to buy on the 1st day of the sales.

What did everyone vote for in the community choice? I picked Witcher 2.

Edit: For those too lazy to go to steam, today's daily deals:

Legend of Grimrock - $6
Crusader Kings 2 - $10
Ridge Racer Unbounded - $25
Heroes of Might & Magic VI - $25
Portal 2- $5
Modern Warfare 3 - $30
Indie Bundle 1 - $10 (see previous message about indie bundles)
Terraria - $2.50
Total War Shogun 2 - $7.50

Also, as mentioned there are flash sales and community choice sales, but those are either too short and/or uncertain for me to bother typing them up here.

And for anyone who's never participated in a steam sale before, or as a reminder to those who have, don't buy ANYTHING before the last day unless it's on a daily/flash deal. Cause the second you do, it'll wind up being even cheaper the next day.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

I got Terraria and Portal 2. Debating whether to get the bethesda pack since I got this banging new laptop, and Skyrim could be fun on it...but I've been playing 360 SKyrim for months.

It's supposed to be a good port; #2 is not.

I can't run it anyways, so I'll keep waiting. The price will always drop a little more, and the DLC bundles will probably improve as well.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Today's daily deals:

Tribes Ascend starter pack - $5
Payday: The Heist - $5
Sonic Generations - $10.19
Spacemarine - $7.50
Max Payne 3- $30
Binding of Isaac - $1.24
Anno 2070 - $25
Indie Bundle 2 - $10
From Dust - $3.74

FUCKING BUY ISAAC AT THAT PRICE! ALL OF YOU! Hell, just go for the full collection, Isaac, Wrath of the Lamb DLC and Soundtrack for $2.23. I'd buy Sonic at like...$5, so maybe next year? Max Payne bundle is also 75% off, so I might just buy the first two Max Payne games for $3.74, and again, maybe next year 3 will be cheaper and I'll get it then.

Don't really have much else to say about today's deals.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Binding of Isaac is basically an entry level roguelike. It's got the permanent deaths and randomized dungeons, but it's more action based than real roguelikes.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

aaand today's deals are:

Two Worlds 2 - $7.50
Borderlands - $5
Tropico 4 - $7.50
Orcs Must Die - $3.75
Dirt Showdown - $25
Frozen Synapse - $2.50
Dead Island - $10.19
Skyrim - $29.79
Indie Bundle 3 - $10

Once again, nothing for me in the daily deals. However, has anyone here played Ys Origin? I'm thinking about picking it up on the flash deals and wanted some feedback on it.

Universe Sandbox was like $6 so I bought it. It's fun to double the gravity in the Solar System so that everything starts getting sucked into the Sun and then blowing up the Sun.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Today's new deals:

The Darkness 2 - $12.50
Serious Sam 3 - $10
Cities XL 2012 - $10
Indie Bundle 4 - $10
Mount & Blade: with Fire & Sword - $2.50
Hitman Blood Money - $2.50
Saints Row The Third - $12.50
The Walking Dead - $15
Trine 2 - $3.75

I already picked up Trine 2 the other day as a flash deal. I'm tempted by The Walking Dead, but I've been burned by Telltale Formula Fatigue so many times in the past, so I'm wary.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

I had a look at The Walking Dead's requirements, because I've heard decent things so far.

WinXP SP3, P4 2GHz+, 2GB HDD... OK, good so far...

3GB RAM, 512MB VRAM. For a Telltale game? Wha?

DLC is on sale too, which means for just $5 I picked up the Saints Row season pass DLC I could've had for free as it came out if I'd bothered to move my preorder from Steam to THQ. Oh well.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Today's steam sales:

Men of War - $8.75
Indie Bundle V - $10
Ass Creed Rev - $13.60
KOTOR - $2.50
Iron Front: Liberation 1944 - $20
Age of Empires 3 -$10
Metro 2033 - $5
Dear Esther - $2.50
Rage - $10.20

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pick up the Indie Bundle today, cause I really want Gemini Rue and Tiny Bang Story, plus I already got one Ys game so I might as well get another. I'm also thinking about picking up Dear Esther. It's not much of a GAME, per se, but at $2.50? Yeah I'll get it for the story.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Virtually every game to go on sale also had its DLC for a similar discount. Call of Duty? Nope. I mean, you can get the whole Black Ops collection for 50% off... but that's still $50. The game is 20 months old.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Carpe Fulgur Series - $13.50
STALKER: Call of Pripyat - $3.75
Total War Megapack - $12.50
Thief: Deadly Shadows - $2.50
Age of Empires Online - $2.50
Indie Bundle VII - $10
Super Meat Boy - $3.75
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - $30
LA Noire - $5

Thinking about picking up Meat Boy, even though I have so much fucking progress on the 360, cause the PC version has turned into the definitive version of the game. I don't know if I can recommend the Carpe Fulgur pack or not. Recettear is awesome, but Chantellise? Not so much. I don't know anything about Fortune Summoners though. Maybe just buy Recettear separately?

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Krater - $7.50
Gratuitous Tank Battles - $6.80
Amnesia - $5
Fallout New Vegas - $5
Plants vs Zombies GOTY - $2.50
Witcher 2 - $16
Sniper Elite V2 - $25
Alan Wake - $7.50
Indie Bundle VIII - $10

Amnesia and Witcher 2 are definite must buys. Although I'm a hypocrite and won't buy Witcher 2 myself, cause I only just bought Witcher 1 the other day (and it's on sale again too, for $2.50) I wish Krater would have gone to $5, but at $7.50 I'm not sure about it or not.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Don't forget to dig a bit within the sales. For example, in addition to New Vegas, you also have the Ultimate Edition for $10, and Fallout 3 GOTY for $5. The full Alan Wake bundle mentioned before is only $2.50 more than the game alone. The Left 4 Dead flash deal is $5 for each of the two games, or $7.50 for both. The Longest Journey community choice also has Dreamfall for $5, or $6.24 for the bundle. And the original The Witcher as fazzle mentioned.
