Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

I'm thinking about getting Dreamfall, but it's been so long since I've played The Longest Journey that I don't know how much of it I'll remember. Plus didn't they add some shitty action sequence to Dreamfall, or something like that?

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - $7.50
Civ V - $7.50
Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad - $5
Dungeon Defenders - $3.75
Indie Bundle IX - $10
Crysis 2 - $12
Driver San Fran - $7.50
Fear 3 - $5
Magicka - $2.50

Nothing for me again, and I have to say, I think the community/flash sales are ruining the whole thing, cause by this point we've already seen all the daily deals on sale, so there's no excitement anymore.

Most expensive for me was walking dead at 15 bucks, everything else has been mainly 5 bucks.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box is $4 until 1AM EDT.

I know I saw some news about EA taking the game's servers down (among many other games), but I don't know if that was the console versions, or all of them.

Edit: It may have been Burnout Revenge I was thinking of. (Also Takedown.) Sorry.

And I have yet to buy anything. I told myself I'd probably buy Civilization IV if it went back up, and it is now. And Human Revolution is tempting me, even though I might not be able to run it, and it's sure to drop in price, probably even before Christmas. The console versions are routinely $20 around here.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

After consistently sticking around in the top sellers the entire sale at 20% off, ARMA II finally hits 40% off—$17.99. And the impatient ones who still don't know how this works collectively wail.

If you've heard of DayZ, I guess that's a mod for this game. (Or games, that is.)

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

I've got about 7 hours to decide on yesterday's batch of deals. I'm probably gonna get Civ IV: Complete—as well as Civ III: Complete, even though I've got the base game on my shelf because screw it, $1.24.

I'm not sure about Deus Ex: Human Revolution just yet. The Augmented Edition, "The Missing Link", and the Explosive Mission Pack gets up near $15, which is more than I generally like to spend on digital stuff—especially when I don't know if I'll actually like it. (Also how my computer will handle it.)

I've already talked myself out of Borderlands GOTY, and Prince of Persia '08 since I've already got it for 360, and fuck Ubi PC.

I'm also pretty sure I'll skip Arkham City since I can't run it now anyways, and they'll probably eventually properly bundle up the DLC, and lower the price more. And maybe even cut some of the DRM shit, but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

I've just gotten to the point where I can't get hype over the steam sale anymore. There's only so many times you can see the same games on sale before it stops being meaningful.

Re: The Steam Thread: Summer Sale is back ON again, bitches!

Can't say I disagree with that. Though I'm never super enthusiastic about digital goods. I've also learned to discipline myself fairly well, knowing I wouldn't even play most/any of the games if I went nuts and grabbed everything on sale. And I can't change my mind later with Steam purchases like I can with disc copies.

The only game I'm really keeping watch for on Steam is Mark of the Ninja. It's currently 25% off, and I'm not really expecting any deep cuts, but we'll see. Slight chance I'll get Fallout 3 GotY if it goes back to $5. Even slighter of the Alan Wake franchise. I can't imagine spending any money on anything beyond those. Still have the GOG.com 5 games for $10 deal to choose from, but there's a few days left on that.

Don't they usually do a Holiday sale around this time? Any idea when it's supposed to start up if they do?

Borderlands 2 DLC is not on sale on Steam:
http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/49520/

However, GreenManGaming has a 30% off voucher, which seems to work with the BL2 season pass; comes to $21.00 total.
Code:
GMG30-DPLIM-DN831

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/ca/en/pc/games/rpgs/borderlands-2-season-pass-na/
http://www.greenmangaming.com/hot-deals/

Works with various other stuff too. As seen on the "Hot Deals" page, Skyrim is 30% off to start; comes to $28.14 with the code. If that doesn't work, it'll almost certainly be 50% off at some point during the Steam sale.

I have a copy of Darksiders 1 to give away. I have a feeling it will be hard to, since it was on sale for like, $1 not too long ago.

Edit: Steam code LZB5B-99ABN-0R2M9 gogogogogo

If you're tempted to buy Darksiders II, don't buy the standalone game. It's on sale for $16.99, while the Franchise pack including both games, and all of #2's DLC is $13.59.

Or Amazon.com has the franchise bundle for $13.19, which includes a $5 gaming credit: "Plus, make any purchase from the Digital Games Store between now and December 31, 2012 and get a $5 credit (to be used in the month of January 2013) good towards any of our 2012 Editor's Choice Games."

XCOM is 50% off here—down to $25. Should be a Steam code.
http://www.getgamesgo.com/product/xcom-enemy-unknown

GMG has Sleeping Dogs for $16.99 to start. Add coupon code "GMG30-DPLIM-DN831" for 30% off—down to $11.90. Then you get your choice of $4 cash back, or $6 GMG credit back, for an effective total of $7.90 or $5.90. Steam code.

Or they have the Arkham games for 75% off to start, and you can use the same "GMG30-DPLIM-DN831" code for another 30% off. Both Steam codes.
